Meet the Team Behind the FCS Teachers Club

Arlene – Founder & Curriculum Designer

A veteran teacher with 16 years of teaching experience and the founder of Twins and Teaching LLC. She creates ready-to-use, engaging curriculum for busy Family and Consumer Science teachers — covering topics such as Intro to Foods, Career Exploration, Financial Literacy, and Child Development. Arlene knows what it’s like to juggle multiple preps, and her mission is to save teachers time while keeping students inspired.

When she's not designing engaging curriculum or supporting fellow educators, Arlene enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and their five wonderful children — including a lively set of twin boys.

Megan – Creative Force Behind Real-World FCS Lessons

Megan has been teaching Family & Consumer Sciences for over 12 years, with experience in more than 15 different courses across middle and high school. She currently teaches high school and especially loves bringing Interior Design, Child Development, Fashion & Clothing, and Food Trends to life in the classroom. Megan is passionate about hands-on, real-world lessons that make FCS meaningful and memorable for students.

Outside of teaching, she’s a busy mom of four — which keeps her creativity and energy flowing both at home and in the classroom.

Chris – Culinary Consultant & Chef

Chris is a professional chef turned high school culinary arts teacher with over 20 years of industry experience. He brings real-world culinary knowledge into the classroom by testing recipes, reviewing lessons, and helping ensure every lab is practical, safe, and student-friendly.

When he's not in the kitchen or classroom, Chris enjoys spending time with his wife, Arlene, and their five children. He’s also an avid beekeeper and fly-fisher — always up for a new adventure, whether it’s catching trout or perfecting a new recipe.

Deirdre – The Backbone Behind the Scenes

Deirdre Schoenfelder is a dedicated virtual assistant with over 20 years of experience in education. Known for her reliability, organization, and strong communication skills, Deirdre supports entrepreneurs, small businesses, and professionals by handling administrative tasks with efficiency and care.

Her background in education has honed her attention to detail and ability to manage complex projects, making her a trusted partner for clients seeking streamlined support.
